According to the New Zealand Government’s Commission of Inquiry, chiropractic care is “remarkably safe.” This the result of a conservative approach that avoids invasive procedures or the use of medication however, occasionally there have been some adverse reactions.
Chiropractors are 5-year university trained health professionals and are government registered and regulated. At Complete Health Chiropractic, Chatswood we use thorough testing and state-of-the-art digital technology to determine if chiropractic is right for you.
With some adjustments you may sometimes hear a clicking or popping sound. This is simply caused by a release of gas that is dissolved in the lubricating fluid of the joint as spinal movement is restored. It can be likened to removing a lid from a fizzy drink.
At Complete Health Chiropractic we use many different techniques including manual adjustments, a hand-held instrument called an activator, pelvic blocks or cranial mobilisation to to adjust the spine and re-align the body.
Specific, gentle techniques are used for adjusting pregnant women, babies, children, seniors.
At Complete Health Chiropractic, Chatswood we like to offer a holistic approach that encourages prevention and long-term health rather than short-term relief alone but how long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you.
As health professionals it is our responsibility to provide you with guidance around chiropractic and lifestyle habits so you can make informed choices about your health. Like regular dental or eye check-ups or screening tests from your doctor, caring for your spine and nervous system is a vital part of maintaining your health and wellbeing.
Our care recommendations depend on a variety of factors including your age, how long you have had your condition, if there are any degenerative changes or other structural issues. Regardless of whether you come to us with pain holding you back or whether you come to us looking to optimise your body function, we are here to help you achieve your health goals.
The goal of your first visit is to get to know you and understand your unique situation to determine if chiropractic can help you. We use digital technology, thorough testing and x-rays, if clinically required, to assess the health of the spine and nervous system and look to find the underlying cause of your complaint. We aim to identifying the lifestyle factors that may also be contributing to your pain or condition.
Most of the people that come to us are referred by current practice members or GPs however, Chiropractors are primary care practitioners with 5 years of university training and a medical referral is not required for consultation. We work collaboratively with other health professional to find the best solution for you.
