Ingredients:

6 apples (peeled, cored and thinly sliced)

1/4 cup Maple Syrup (or your choice of sweetener)

1 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon

 

Crumble on top:

150g plain flour

75g rolled oats

100ml coconut oil (melted)

Brown sugar  (add however much you want to sweeten the crumble)

Pinch of salt

 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celcius. Toss the apple slices with the sweetener and cinnamon, tip into a deep round 25cm baking dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, oats, coconut oil, a pinch of salt, and mix well. Tip onto the apples, spreading to roughly cover, then bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until you see the sauce bubbling around the sides. At this point then switch the oven to the grill setting and cook for an extra 4-5 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

*To keep it vegan-friendly serve it with plant-based icecream or custard.
